आज पावापुरी में तीन प्राचीन भूमि हैं जो भगवान का स्मरण कराती हैं। (१) प्रभु की चातुर्मास-निर्वाण भूमि पर जिनालय - ग्राम मंदिर। (२) भगवान के सोलह प्रहर देशना के स्थान पर राजा नंदीवर्धा ने बनाया स्तूप। (३) जलमंदिर, जहां भगवान का अंतिम संस्कार हुआ था। २/२

@crp9786 This pigeon's vishta eating advice is a shocker! Heard it again and again couple of days before. How can a jain saint advice such an act where a bird's excreta being used for curing diseases. Indigestible!! E.g. Jains do not consume products made from gau-mutra & dung.

Tirthankar Mahavira Swami attained nirvana (liberation) in 527 BCE in Pawapuri, Bihar, at the age of 72. This event is celebrated by Jains as Mahavir Nirvana Kalyanak, and the festival is known as Diwali/Deepawali, symbolizing the departure of his light of knowledge.

Sopara’s main land holds a Jain temple named Agashi Jain Tirth whose ancient mulnayak idol of Shri Munisuvrat Swami Bhagwan was found from a pond in the vicinity. The temple was built 200 years ago by a renowned trader, a social worker and a true jain devotee named Sheth Motisha.

Jainism has existed in Maharashtra for several centuries. The Shwetambar tradition is the oldest, succeeded by the Shwetambar Tapagachha Jain Sanghs.
