German tankers had a tendency to count their kills very optimistically. #OTD in 1943 instructions were given by the 18th Army, reminding its tankers that not all enemy tanks that were hit counted as destroyed, especially not those that drove away afterwards. #tanks #history #WW2

Weakened by the Munich Agreement, Czechia was fully annexed by Nazi Germany #OTD in 1939. This move handed the Germans an advanced arms industry, including the LT vz.38 light tank that greatly surpassed Germany's own light tanks in performance #tanks #history #WW2 #Czechoslovakia

Captured Steyer Waffentrager prototype. This was one of several projects to install the 88 mm Pak 43 on a lightly armoured chassis, since the extreme weight of the gun made it impossible to move by hand. Germany, May 1945. #tanks #history #WW2
