Sometimes the answer isn’t what will solve the problem. This kochia not going down without a fight in my bean field so had to use another tool in the toolbox-my own 2 hands. A bit of sweat equity this year will (fingers crossed) save me from a bigger problem next year.

As long as you’re focused on the ear when it comes to silage. The grain (starch) is about 1/2 of the dry matter yield and about 65% of the energy. A big ear with kernals that have hard starch (1/2 to 3/4 milk line) is the sweet spot. But we deal with frost up here!! 1/2
