Worst thing that was said to you as a med student? "Hey Andrew do you work out?" (Looks up as this attending has never addressed me in 2 weeks) "Yeah.. sometimes" "Ok great we'll then why don't you hold that retractor like you have any f_n strength in your hands AT All!"

@Talk2MeDoc When I thought I wanted to do surgery, someone in my class said, “it’s a good thing you aren’t married then.”

@Talk2MeDoc Male attending: Your job is to wear tight pants and not get in my way. Got it? Me: Nahhh, that’s not going to work for me. You see I am paying to be here and I don’t pay to work with misogynist. Got it?

@Talk2MeDoc I once had a consultant kick the side of and punch his fist on the desk of nurses station because: - I wasn’t the registrar - I also didn’t know where they were Given it was my FIRST MORNING FIRST DAY on the ward, it set my expectations of them for the rest of my career

Now we should do a residency one... oh lord it'll be wild. This is just more examples of the hierarchy in medicine and how badly we treat our trainees. Hopefully the current generation of physicians will not perpetuate this BS. I'm not an academic...

@Talk2MeDoc I make retractors for a living and this would make great marketing...if it wasn’t SO MEAN! What did you say back?

@Talk2MeDoc It was not something said. The back of my hands were covered in bruises during my ob/gyn rotation. They would throw the instruments down on top of my hands during c sections. If I moved my hands, I got yelled at. Good times.

@Talk2MeDoc Surgeon next to me in the OR, leans over, his face inches away from my neck: “You smell really good.” I just froze. Was told “Well, he’s a surgeon. They’re really like that” 🙃🙃🙃

@Talk2MeDoc By attending discussing breast uptake on a nuclear scan. Of course I was the only 🚺 trainee present: “Agnes, do your breasts tingle mid-cycle?” #YouCantMakeThisShitUp #RadCX

@Talk2MeDoc I was removing my scarf from my neck on end of day rounds. Gross surgery chief resident asked me to do a strip tease. Grateful for fellow Med students who made sure I was never alone with him. Ty @AlisonToth @jeffhenn11
