This isn’t to knock on anyone I know’s art btw. I have plenty of garbage. I just want them to insert themselves more into their work, and some of them are starting to, but I believe that creating a portfolio for exclusively job hunting is hurting them in spite of their polish.

One thing I always admired about my advisor was how he kept his designs and artwork HIS, even when bending the knee to company design changes. I’m glad I still have that sort of thing too, and I know these friends of mine have the ability to do it; I just hope they grow more.

Some of my friends from college are REALLY good at making corporate art. Like, it’s to the point where it makes me wonder how much creative expression was beaten out of them in their higher-level graphic design courses. I wish them the best in finding a niche and not being corpo.

When my gallbladder was damaged without me knowing about it, I’d throw up at least 18 hours a week. This lasted for almost a year, and got to the point where it was more rare for me to not vomit for 6-8 hours a day than to not vomit at all that day. Almost died lol.

DK’s biggest success is that it has ENGAGING gameplay based on the character instead of its past iterations, and a lot of Switch 1 titles are very hands-off in regard to this. Instead of the “player” or “character” in the world, it’s about the world that has the character in it.

The problem with saying “big revival” is that it diminishes ongoing issues of their more successful stuff kinda having nowhere to go, but in a direction that is further and further away from its own identity. AC needs to go back to comfy forest vibes, and Zelda needs swordplay.
