In Ghana, there's a common practice where food vendors do not sell their food unless the 1st customer is a man. If you are female and happen to be the first customer, you won’t be served until a male comes to buy the food. Even a 2 year old boy will be served before a female is.

I’ve spoken about this before and it’s 10000% down to the absence of our own content in mainstream media especially television. When telenovelas took over and shows like YOLO, Things We Do for Love, Taxi Driver etc all became a thing of the past it was done.
