Thrilled to have been awarded the Howard Elder Prize for my work on ALPK1😃. This kinase is activated by bacterial ADP-heptose, but mutations that cause a genetic disease and a rare cancer allow it to also be activated by human metabolites! #ALPK1 @mrcppu.@UoDLifeSciences
