If you have been crazy busy like me, this is your reminder to stop and smell the roses. While our rose garden is currently closed to allow seasonal maintenance, there are certainly lots of blooming flowers out in parks to enjoy. @TucsonParksRec

A few days ago Leroy and I visited Lakeside Park. Our new intention to visit parks and evaluate how dog friendly they are. Great spot for views of the water and ducks. Easy to get 1- 2 mile walk in. All dogs encountered were on a leash. Remember #leashupcleanup @TucsonParksRec

HAPPY 2025, Started the day with coworkers and friends hiking out at Saguaro East. Then got some grape vines and a blackberry bush in the ground. Putting all the positives out there for the year ahead to be productive.

Learn from my mistake, turn your rotating broadcast sprinkler off when there is a freeze warning. Ours runs at 4am and well lots of my flowering plants froze..ðŸ˜

The behind the scenes look at how the annual ice rink comes to be at the TCC. Our Parks folks build it out and then our creative team from recreation and events add the flair! Looking forward to seeing many enjoy it starting this weekend.@TucsonParksRec

It is a good day when you celebrate a new park and getting to name it with the urging of the neighborhood after a gentleman who has lived a lifetime of service, and dedication to the community. Days like these are special. Kha Dang Park, 1933 N Bell Ave.@TucsonParksRec

We have definitely reached the sweater weather portion of 2024 Rosy hates the cold so she layers up for morning outdoor play. Stay warm out there as you enjoy our parks.

Minus one team member, we grabbed a photo before leaving the 2024 @NRPA conference. It is rewarding to hear how staff enjoy and learn from the education sessions and finding commonality with staff from other cities. Looking forward to implementing new ideas.@TucsonParksRec

Leroy did a full day at the office today. He's dog tired...but today he heard someone say, "This is the best part of my day while petting him", he looked at me like he was a hero🤣 Glad he brings some comfort to the workplace on the days he gets to come in. @TucsonParksRec

Thanks to the volunteers who came out this morning to deadhead the roses at the Cele Peterson Rose Garden. Pruning helps to ensure robust summer blooming. It can also be great therapeutic mental work as you trim! Join us in July the early pruning adventure. @TucsonParksRec

Madera Canyon was a great spot for Leroy and I to do a hike yesterday morning. First time hiking while hearing turkey gobble in the distance. Summer heat means going up elevation to still stay active. Remember to stay hydrated and go out early or late in the day to be heat safe.
