In the constitutional and legal framework of India, “tribe” is tribe, and each listed tribe has its own distinct identity. The Thadou tribe, recognized independently under the Scheduled Tribes list of 1956, is not the same as “Any Kuki tribes (AKT)” whether the version from 1951.
This is the proof document that there was no Any Kuki Tribe in the state of Manipur.
