Language matters. The way we talk about rape and sexual violence is important. Just because someone didn't intend to be hurtful or offensive doesn't change the fact they are being hurtful or offensive. Discourse and conversation won't change until people do.

We need to talk about rape &sexual violence. Avoiding it makes it harder for survivors to confide in others & perpetuates a legacy of shame. We can't shy away from talking about things because they make us uncomfortable. It's time to take back the taboo & dismantle the discomfort

As the temperature is set to rise many of us will look for cooler and lighter clothing options this week as we bid goodbye to our winter wardrobes. Clothing choices in warmer weather are just a means to being more comfortable and never equate to consent.
