is posibly TOP 1 action ep. in the series. Shishido cements himself as one of the best directors to work in One Piece. He delivered an action storyboard on a level only Ishizuka can match. The comp work & direction are insane too. The animation is extraordinary

Every trailer moves less than the previous ones. . . Nice colours and compositing, strong art and designs but the animation is not there. . .
I hope it has at least 1 sakugafest ep for season but i'm starting to doubt it

OP 1013: Nakamura is Ishitani's mentor and it shows big time with his photography and lens flares aproach! Top 4 directed eps of Onigashima so far alongside: 982, 994 and 1006. Art was super strong due to Takagi's efforts. Great animation highlights that i wasn't expecting too!

The animation work of Mehdi Aouichaoui in this start of One Piece Egghead arc is stellar 💫 Fantastic effects, very lively fabric & character acting animation with great fluidity and expressivity.
I hope he continues to participate in the series often.

Shimaya's work as SB+ED was way stronger than what we anticipated it to be. There was many amazingly animated scenes giving life to the characters throughout the whole thing. Even Shimanuki AD work was surprisingly sharp.

Can't wait to get to the climax scenes of Sanji vs Queen, Zoro vs King, Law & Kid vs Big Mom and Luffy vs Kaido!!! It won't happen (Ishizuka) but the 3 animators who i would love the most to handle them would be clearly this 3: Ishizuka, Kojima and Sugita!

Episode of Chopper counted with the designs of Naoki Tate. He's well known for his looser style that prioritizes character acting animation & movement instead of high detailed & more stiff ones. It does it in a diferent style than Egghead will, but there's the same idea behind it

He's the director that started Egghead with the AMAZING episode of Lulusia incident + the Strawhats reaching the place & meeting with Bonney.

We recently knew that Ryota Nakamura, one of the best directors that ever worked for One Piece leaved the team. He will be missed. Some of the strongest Wano eps like 1013 or 1061 were his. Also 850 his only work of his in the series previously was one of the highlights of WCI

Since the latter part of Wano Act 1 until the end of Oden's backstory, Junwen Tan, often apearing with his friend Yong-Ce Tu, was very present in One Piece anime, delivering fantastic scenes with amazing effects work, impact frames, fluidity & even good choreography. I miss it!

Will Tu be the main animation powerhouse of 1100? It would make sense. Specially if he doesn't appear until then, i expect his biggest contribution in awhile. Probably not just lenghty KA but also AD work.

The one KA artist we NEED to get back on the team is Akihiro Ota. He was my favourite animator in Act 3 of Wano. His scenes speak for themselves, & yes he has even more secuences in this crazy level 🥹

I liked it. More than solid for a low priority episode. Art wasn't bad, we got new great OST, a couple of sakuga scenes. Boarding was nice too in some sections. I'm already feeling the benefits of less detailed designs for this type of episodes.

He's been doing a great job since the Thriller Bark days until the very finale of Wano.

Shishido went above & beyond with the action storyboard in One Piece 1100. Some of the most complex sequences in the series. Specially the last one with all the stuff in the background & how it gets even more crazy when it reaches the buildings.

Very charming & fun character acting from Hideki Maniwa, who was one of the strongest assets of the One Piece production in the early pre timeskip days & a perfect fit for it's charicaturesque style. Literally my favourite animator of that time. Until Ishizuka took over, ofc 😉😌

My fav AD for Kuzan vs Garp would've been Ishizuka, but since he's busy with Law vs BB, it can't be. The other perfect AD for it is Tu. He's shown countless times how raw & intense his art can be. Here's just a few examples.

1062 can relistically fight for his spot in the best produced acrion episodes ever in this franchise. The one to truly look forward.
The other 2 aren't particularly strong. Hisada is good but rarely truly outstanding. Also i don't expect the best animators to show up on those.

I feel like this Ousama Ranking animation by the "titan animator" Arifumi Imai, was quickly forgotten. Less flashy than his popular stuff but It's among his best works, imo. Specially when it comes to character acting.
