Please join with me in extending prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Blue Ash mayor Tom Adamec. Mayor Adamec was a great public servant, a terrific mayor, a dedicated civic volunteer, and a loving husband and father. He will be truly missed.

I tweeted earlier about the commencement ceremony today on campus at the University of Cincinnati. One of those graduates made me proudest of all. My son Ethan was among the graduates being recognized today at Fifth Third Arena. So proud of you son and I love you very much.

Yesterday’s raid in Mississippi separating parents from their children is not the America I grew up in nor the America I want for my children. Such unconscionable actions should never be tolerated. I urge all people to stand up against the President’s cruel immigration policies.

Proud to stand with local leadership @MomsDemand and with Commissioner Driehaus, Mayor Cranley, councilmembers Sittenfeld and Landsman and representative @RepTimRyan calling for an end to the gun violence and for Congress to act. Freedom from fear is a fundamental human right.

Too many infants are still dying before their first birthday from unsafe sleeping conditions. Please remember a child should always go to sleep at naptime, bedtime or any time alone, on their back and in a crib.

In a region of sports greats Jared Lorenzen shared the top spot with a select few. My heartfelt prayers go out to the Lorenzen family today. He showed many what it takes to be a good athlete. He showed us all how to be a great human being. May God bless and keep Jared Lorenzen.

Looking to get a report from MSD today on recent flooding county wide. Hope to better understand what amount of flooding is due to inadequacies in the sewer system or whether it is due to unprecedented rainfalls exceeding the rated capacity of the sewer system as a whole.

Thank God for our brave warriors in uniform as we all pause today and remember the heroic sacrifices of our veterans on D-Day June 6, 1944 and in doing so remember also all of the heroic sacrifices of Veterans on all days in all wars before and since defending our freedoms.

My heart goes out to the 12 dead and other victims of the Virginia beach shootings. May the Lord bless and embrace the souls of the victims and provide the peace comfort and assurances of God‘s love for their families and friends.
