📉 On the flip side, supine and semi-lithotomy positions showed the smallest IDs. For midwives & birth workers, understanding which positions actually open the pelvis could make all the difference in supporting physiological birth and potentially lowering C/S rates. 3/4

🔍 In a recent review published in the latest issue Marissa Giannake and @tanya_capper found that some upright positions are associated with the widest pelvic diameters, potentially aiding fetal descent—particularly when the baby is stalled around the ischial spines.2/4
