Now in its 36th year, this program equips teachers and students to apply science curriculum to better understand the link between our drinking water and natural resources. More than 25,000 have participated since 1989, and we’re now meeting students whose parents participated

These seventh- and eighth-graders tested water for properties like pH, clarity, dissolved oxygen, and bacteria, which indicate the health of a waterway. Students will assess the data they collect and present findings next month at the Toledo Zoo.

Starting this week, nearly 1,200 students from 25 classrooms across the region are testing and analyzing water quality as part of TMACOG’s Student Watershed Watch. On Thursday, we joined students and teachers from Hawkins STEM Academy and the Natural Science Academy of Toledo.
