Long story short: In Sept I left Twisted Fields, where I was designing Acorn the open source farming robot. I’ve found a new job at a fast paced startup. It’s really fun! I will maintain a fork of Acorn, and continue with my plan to stabilize the design and publish detailed docs.

I've been making excellent progress on my open source brushless motor controller with stepper motor and encoder support. The schematic is essentially complete and I got all parts roughly placed inside the board outline. Check out the updated github page in the next tweet!

I’m really proud of those handles tho. I know I am such a nerd about this but it feels so clean to me lmao.

Like I sort of have an alt on Twitter but it was never linked on main. It didn’t feel right to promote the farm robot and also post my ass and talk about getting railed. But it was hard keeping that in lol. I feel some sense of balance now that I have two equal linked accounts.

Been workin on this 2.5 years. I am still going, tho slower now. I am working on an RP2350 version, with a fourth bridge so it can also drive industrial closed loop steppers. It has voltage sensing for sensorless brushless. It’s moving on hobby time now, but it’s coming.
