When you design an offense you want the QB’s feet to be tied to the progression, now Getsy is basically admitting that he lets his QB’s choose how to get to a play.
To me the idea that for example you coach

Luke Getsy believes in having the left foot forward in the shotgun, but says he would never force a player to use that footwork if they didn't feel comfortable with it. Nathan Peterman tried it and didn't like it, so he has his right foot forward.
