In the article, I largely explore my journey through trying to answer four interrelated questions: 1) How do I decide what I *do* want all pupils to remember (for ever)? 2) How do I ensure this goes beyond individual 'facts', definitions and knowledge statements to be recalled?

Supporting Ss to build substantive knowledge abt the past - rich, deep, lasting knowl that means s’thing & matters to Ss - is vital, but really hard! Delighted to have an article in @histassoc TH192 exploring my journey so far through this challenge. https://t.co/vycjKWjB08

It has been a bumper week for subject reports at Ofsted, with not one, not two, but three published. Each of our reports contains recommendations, which we hope will help schools to develop strong curriculums and support high-quality teaching in each of these subject areas 🧵..
