The Nurse Practitioners' Association of Ontario were here at Queen's Park today, where I met with some of their members. Nurse Practitioners are an amazing part of Ontario's healthcare system and we are so appreciative of their contributions ❤️🩺

Yesterday, I met with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association at Queen's Park to discuss some of the issues with current legislative barriers. It was an informative meeting and I appreciated hearing their concerns and solution ideas.

The Ministry of Health's Out-of-Country (OOC) OHIP funding policy makes it virtually impossible for someone with a rare medical condition to get necessary treatment. It requires patients to provide a letter of support from an "equivalent" Ontario specialist.

CIAL FM 90.9 London, Ontario is London's first ethnic community radio station. I attended their inauguration ceremony on Saturday. This new community-based multicultural radio station celebrates London's vibrant diversity 🎉

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Highland Community Curling Club for their Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Recognition ceremony. It was great to meet some of their members, see the facility, and recognize their contributions to the community.

On Friday, I enjoyed a delicious assortment of lunch tastings at Glen Cairn Centre's Fall Flavours fundraiser. Thank you to the staff for putting this event together and providing exemplary dishes.

This morning at Queen's Park, I met with representatives of the Ontario Autism Coalition to hear more about the supports needed for those with autism, and how I can continue to advocate for them.

Over the weekend, I visited the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Fall Harvest. I had a wonderful time learning about traditional food, its preparation, and much more! Thank you to everyone who helped put this event together and took the time to share their knowledge.

Over 300,000 families rely on affordable child care under the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care program, which is set to expire in March. Yet this government has failed to secure a deal with the federal government for its continuation. The clock is ticking. ⏰

Nearly half of ECEs leave the profession within three years, citing low wages, lack of benefits, and unsustainable working conditions. Ontario needs a real plan that ensures fair wages, improved working conditions, and real career stability for this essential workforce.

Today at Queen's Park, we heard from advocates for childcare and childcare workers about what is needed from the government to improve childcare for children, parents, and workers. I questioned the premier on the delay in reaching an agreement to extend $10/day childcare.

Words of appreciation fall short without action. We cannot simply say we appreciate childcare workers; we must show it.
