Because of the shape of the cone and the way the rails are angled, the cone's #CenterOfGravity moves downward as the cone rolls upward. [2/3].

Dr. Tatiana places a wooden cone at the bottom of the ramp and it somehow rolls uphill. It may look like it is going against gravity, but it is actually doing exactly what #physics predicts. [1/3].

into rotational kinetic energy, and a smaller fraction goes into the kinetic energy of downhill motion. Therefore, it moves down slower, and the can with all magnets in the center wins the race!. [3/3].

Both cans have the same number of magnets, but in one they are placed at the center. In the other, they are arranged near the rim, giving the second can a larger moment of inertia. As the second can goes down, a larger fraction of its original potential energy goes . [2/3].

On August 17, 1859, John Wise became the first to be recognized by the #USPS to deliver mail by air balloon. It was the original 'airmail,' though delivery times depended entirely on the wind’s mood. 🎈📬 #History #Airmail #tamu

By placing your fingers in the direction of current flow, rotating your hand so your fingers can curl in the direction of the magnetic field, you can determine the direction of the magnetic force by looking at the direction your thumb points. [4/4].

The force on the moving charges is called the #LorentzForce. The force on each of these charges produces a net force on the whole wire thereby causing the wire to move. The direction of the force on the wire can be found by use of a right-hand rule. [2/4].

Did you know wires with currents can experience a magnetic force? When the current flows through the wire, the moving charges in the wire interact with the #magnetic field from the nearby permanent magnet. [1/4].
