I know that project moon loves to do really unique spins on Sinner’s source books though. Maybe it’s because I read Hell Screen recently in preparation that’s making me wait for more obvious parallel like this

I feel like Yoshihide’s complete change in demeanor for his daughter is a really important part of Hell Screen. I could be completely wrong here! But maybe Ryoshu’s lapse in memory might’ve led her to be tricked by the house of spiders into believing her daughter was truly safe

the scratch marks make me think that they might have even lit a fire beneath that safe. I mean it could just be regular panic! But I refuse to buy into the theory that Ryoshu was also (at least consciously) abusive to Araya, considering the source text
