Findings: ⚡ LLMs significantly reduce annotation time 💵 AITM lowers cost—even accounting for compute ⚠️ BUT: AI suggestions strongly anchor humans 🧠 Awareness prompts alone don't fully prevent it

🔬 Study setup: 4 annotation conditions (Human-Only, AI-Human, AI-Human-Deanchoring, AI-Only) 2 domains (International Policy & K–12 Education) Tasks: topic generation + topic assignment Metrics: time, cost, agreement, bias

Why this matters: Even with great tech, human-in-the-loop design is essential. Extending our previous work on LLM efficacy, our results help guide responsible use of LLMs in expert coding workflows, especially in sensitive domains like education.
