🩵 DERBY DAY 🩵 Finally back after a couple of weeks off and it’s a big one! Plenty of wrongs to put right from the reverse fixture and the boys are ready to do it. It will be a tough game and we know we need to work hard to earn all 3 points. Up the Swavo! 🩵

Reminder that this is taking place tomorrow! All support welcome, raising money for a fantastic charity.
There will be a charity football match for MIND mental health charity in honour of our former player Dan Evett who sadly lost his life almost a year ago. If you would like to come down and support, stay for a drink or donate to the cause, the details are on the poster 🩵

A good performance from everyone again this week. Unlucky not to come away with the 3 points. Goals from Couls and JB both assisted by Alfie Neal who continues to make a huge impact. A break now for a couple of weeks

Strong team this week, with a few enforced changes. Great to welcome back Alex in midfield and a long awaited competitive debut for George Bergin. Let’s get the three points! Up the Swavo! 🩵

Back in league action against last weeks opposition, this time at home. We are looking to hit the same level as last week and get the result again. Up the Swavo! 🩵

Then finally that breakthrough came as the ref said “3 minutes to penalties”. A hopeful ball played from midfield looked easy to deal with until Alfie N pinched from the defenders toes. He stormed into the box before pulling it across to AJ who bundled in the winner!!

As the game came to its final knockings, Isleham had a string of corners. But we were equal to them and managed to clear. With the wind against is it was tough to get the ball forward. Alfie Neal and JB were tirelessly chasing lost causes hoping for a breakthrough.

As is often the case in football, we miss our chance and the opposition score with their next attack. This could have caused heads to drop but the boys had a point to prove to Andy. Heads remained firmly in the game and the spirit of the team remained high as we tried to win.

After withstanding some pressure from the home team it was our turn to attack. Some fantastic link up play from the attacking players worked us into their box. A ball across found Jamie P who had time to control but pull his shot wide from the edge of the 6 yard box.

Fresh legs on in the second half and the game largely carried on as it did in the first half. Both teams doing what they could to get the ball forward. Isleham had a few good chances, matched by some equally good saves from Tom Smart keeping us in front.

Then came the controversy with Rian Mason picking up a second yellow card just before the break. The first we are still unsure about. But a quick reshuffle and the boys were able to withstand the Isleham pressure for the remainder of the half.

The wind played a massive part in the game making it difficult for both teams. With the wind behind us in the first half we managed to capitalise with a long ball played through to Coulson, who made not mistake.

INTO THE NEXT ROUND Andy asked for a reaction and he got one. A battling performance in tough conditions made worse by a dubious red card for Captain Rian in the first half. But the boys dug deep and got the win thanks to goals from Couls and AJ! Up the Swavo! 🩵

🩵 CUP MATCH 🩵 A welcome break from league action sees us travel to fellow 3B team Isleham reserves. Looking for another strong cup run again this year. The gaffer has demanded a reaction from the boys after a few disappointing results, they owe him that! Up the Swavo!

🩵ANNOUNCEMENT🩵 After last winters success the golf day will be returning! Set your diaries for Sunday 28/12/2025, but this year we’d like to do it as a charity fundraiser. As a club we have raised money in the past for Andy’s Man Club and we’d like to do that again this year!

🩵FULL TIME🩵 Going in to the game we knew it would be a really tough battle with the squad we had, against a good opposition. We fought our way through a scrappy first half, which didn’t see much action. Brave bit of keeping by Callum earned himself an early bath unfortunately

🩵 MATCH DAY SQUAD 🩵 A strong team to put things right after last weeks disappointing defeat. Great to welcome back Rian who will provide extra quality in defence. Great to have some experience in the team as well with both Jamie’s and Scotty.
