After staying mostly silent on one of Ukraine’s biggest corruption scandals, Zelensky finally acts — ordering the Justice and Energy Ministers to resign and vowing to sanction his close ally and friend Timur Mindich, accused of orchestrating a $100 million corruption scheme.
There must be maximum integrity in the energy sector, in absolutely all processes. I support – and the Prime Minister supports – every investigation carried out by law enforcement and anti-corruption officials. This is an absolutely clear and consistent position for everyone.

Angelina Jolie went to Kherson, where Russian drones hunt civilians daily in a “human safari”. That takes courage. I can’t help but praise her selflessness and kindness in choosing to help draw attention to Ukrainian civilians, especially children, suffering from the war.

In my latest piece, I explain what Zarah Sultana gets wrong about Ukraine’s working class — and why her call to stop pumping money into arms manufacturers would leave Ukrainians defenceless. @zarahsultana

Zarah Sultana loves to pose as a champion of the working class, seeing the world through the lens of class struggle. Even, it seems, the war in Ukraine. In her latest interview, she calls Nato ‘an...

Now is the time to stop the killing and for an immediate ceasefire. Given President Putin’s refusal to end this senseless war, Treasury is sanctioning Russia’s two largest oil companies that fund the Kremlin’s war machine. Treasury is prepared to take further action if necessary

Kharkiv. Emergency workers console children they pulled from a kindergarten hit by a Russian drone. As always after Putin’s calls with Trump, Russia ramps up its attacks on Ukraine.

Putin launched nearly 500 drones and missiles against Ukraine overnight, killing a 7-year-old child and injuring dozens of civilians. But none of that matters to Trump, who wrote nothing about the attack and instead thanked Putin for calling Trump worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize.

Until Nato stops talking and starts acting, Russia will continue to test how much the bloc is willing to tolerate

For the first time, I agree with everything Trump says below about the war in Ukraine, but I have a bad feeling about it. He seems to be walking away from trying to end the fighting, wishing ‘good luck to all’.

Just look at the faces of Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials as Trump boasts at the UN about his ‘good relationship’ with Putin:

Ukraine and Poland have agreed to form a joint drone force that will run training programmes for their troops to counter Russian air attacks. Poland’s defence minister described the deal as “crucial for the transformation of the Polish army and for NATO as a whole.”

A powerful message from King Charles during Trump’s visit to the UK: “Today, as tyranny once again threatens Europe, we and our allies stand together in support of Ukraine to deter aggression and secure peace.”

In Trump’s world, the war in Ukraine is everyone’s fault but Putin’s.

This is how the headquarters of Ukraine’s government now looks after this morning's Russian attack. Our whole team works in this building daily. Fortunately, no one was injured. Russian barbarism will not halt the work of Ukraine’s government. The walls will be repaired, they

When Zelensky was asked to describe the security guarantees finalised at the Coalition of the Willing summit, the word he reached for was ‘theoretical’. Below is my latest on theoretical guarantees for a theoretical ceasefire in Ukraine: https://t.co/hkWks3GuFN

Larry the Cat has no idea how much I love him. What a gem of British politics. Plus, the person running his account is always so supportive of Ukraine!

We have just sent our first fortnightly edition of The Spectator for the US market. And it's a gem. The cover piece, by @bdomenech, is on the military conflict that MAGA wants. It could not be more timely:

A Russian air strike targeted personnel of a humanitarian demining mission in Chernihiv, killing at least one and injuring many more. Yet another war crime, another breach of the Geneva Conventions Putin couldn’t care less about.
