4 weeks of block placement down at RSCH @BSUH_NHS! Feeding patients and analysing videos in videofluoroscopy clinic definitely a highlight 🖥 starting to feel more confident working on the trauma and neurosurgery wards 💪🏼 in other news, continuing to LOVE being by the sea 😍🌊

Week 3 ✅ Lots of communication and swallowing assessments with patients this week. Highlight of the week: delivering formal training on upper airway anatomy to OTs & physios and receiving excellent feedback. If I didn’t know my cranial nerves before, I sure do now!! @BSUH_SLT 🧠

Another fab week on placement with @BSUH_NHS. Finished the week off by shadowing a specialist SLT working on ENT. Great to see some voice therapy techniques demonstrated with patients and get the chance to practice perceptual skills by grading voice quality using the GRBAS 👂🏼👀🗣.

Week one of block placement at @BSUH_NHS complete and so many learning opportunities already! 📝🙌🏼 From assisting with tracheostomy cuff deflation to communication assessments to oromotor examinations! It’s great to be able to apply theory to practice 🧠🗣 @UCL_MScSLS @BSUH_SLT.

Amazing to participate and be involved in changing a laryngectomy valve today on my first day on acute placement in Brighton! A very valuable experience to be a part of 🗣 excited for what’s to come over the next 5 weeks!! #slt2b.
