You’ll forget your last job. You’ll forget your first kiss. You’ll forget every neighbor you ever had. But you’ll never forget the sound of Mark Bellhorn’s home run in game one of the 2004 World Series clanging against Pesky’s Pole.

21 years ago tonight, the Red Sox pulled off the greatest comeback in MLB history. I've watched this clip a million times & will likely watch it a million more. In fact, at my funeral, just play this on loop with a note that says "he got to see it." Folks will know I died happy.

On October 19, 2013, the Red Sox closed out the ALCS at Fenway, besting a Tigers team that, on paper, seemed a superior opponent. But those 2013 Sox were built of heart, resilience, beards and your uncle’s dirty magazines, and when shit got tough, they made all the right moves.

18 years ago tonight: In a classic example of FAFO, the Indians, up 3 games to 1 in the 2007 ALCS, tried to get in Josh Beckett's head by having an ex-GF sing the National Anthem. He responded by pantsing them on national TV, striking out 11 and giving up one run through 8.

Also, the entire 6 minute clip of Papi's at bat is a long watch, but it captures everything about that crazy four day stretch: fans praying, cheering, rally capping, clinging to the last strands of hope because it all could have ended at any minute. It's hard to explain that time

Between Games 4 & 5 of the '04 ALCS, I slept 2 hours and consumed nothing but beer and Ring Dings. After Papi's game 5 walkoff, I collapsed on the floor. I was like the zombies from "The Omega Man," blinded by daylight, scrounging food where I could and glued to my TV at night.

Before this, I thought Rick Porcello's double off Max Scherzer was peak pitcher hitting performance.

Twenty-one years ago tonight... the Red Sox lost for the last time in the 2004 postseason.

12 years ago tonight I was pacing and sweating to game 3 of the 2013 ALCS. Game 2 had the fireworks, but game 3 was a nail biter. Lackey was a beast, Nap's bat came up big, and Tazawa & Koji crushed the Tigers' hopes by striking out Miggy & Fielder with the tying run on 3rd.

One of the many things I love about baseball is that a Dodgers/Yankees World Series can be followed by a possible Brewers/Mariners World Series.

October 13, 2013: David Ortiz shifts the momentum of the ALCS with one swing. Another “how the HELL did he do that” moment that he seemed to have an endless supply of. And once again we jumped up on the guy’s back like he was the giant flying dog from "The Neverending Story."

Hey Red Sox Management, it's a great day for apple picking, leaf peeping or, I dunno, looking into certain free agents.

A rage-fueled Don Zimmer charging Pedro Martinez during game 3 of the 2003 ALCS -- 22 years ago today -- was peak Sox/Yanks rivalry and one of the craziest things I've ever seen. All I could think about was Zim's grandkids watching at home wondering, "Has Pop-Pop lost his shit?"

On October 8, 2018, Our Man Brock Holt hit for the cycle as the Red Sox pounded the Yankees 16-1 in game three of the ALDS. I swear I ran through two walls watching this game. Maybe three. Them was the days.
