@liz5davis
Dear Liz,
Cyclists, horse riders and mobility scooter users can use any part of the lane they are in.
A more central position in the lane will often dissuade bad drivers from poor / dangerous overtakes
Good drivers plan safe over takes and have no issue with others road position
For all the motorists that moan about being delayed by a minute or two before they can overtake a cyclist or horse rider...
Footage from a motorway, where there are no cyclists or horse riders.
The vast majority of delays are caused by motorists.
@pdreynolds81
Hi Peter.
A competent and safe driver will be able to plan a safe and legal overtake when the opportunity arises. At most you’d likely be delayed by a minute or so.
If you’re cutting it that close to make it to work, set your alarm earlier.
Drive safe and legal.
Ladies and Gentleman, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay at home.
Speak to any Paramedic, Nurse, Doctor or Health Care professional and they will plead your to stay at home, not to go and sunbath or have a picnic.

@pabrahams2000
Anger management classes are available if you feel it would help. If you get so angry when delayed when driving, then you might want to consider a different mode of transport and return your licence to the DVLA, as the vast majority of delays are caused by motorists.
Driver of this BMW X1 was dawdling in lane 2 for no reason. He ignored the “DO NOT HOG MIDDLE LANE” message displayed to him from our Police car, so was stopped and dealt with for the offence of driving without due care.
He already has 9 points. 🤦♂️
Keep left, unless overtaking
‘Road tax’ doesn’t exist anymore.
It was abolished in 1937.
It’s now a Vehicle Excise Duty (VED), or an Emissions Tax.
Roads are paid for out of general taxation (council/income + VAT etc)
Those that don’t pollute, don’t pay.
The more you pollute, the more you pay.

How have you turned this into a discussion about high viz?
We have cars covered in it and big flashy lights and drivers STILL don’t see us.
The driver of this car was revving his engine to try and entice our unmarked car into a race.
His dreams fell apart when the blue lights came on and he received a Section 59 Warning and a FPN for his tiny … … number plate.
Would you believe it… 😡🤯
One of our Casualty Reduction Officers (CRO) stopped the driver of this car this morning.
She didn’t understand why she was reported for an offence. 🤯
@TheMrLoophole
Interesting that the male voice in your video says that what they’re doing is “completely illegal” - hopefully you can point us in the direction of where that piece of legislation is…
Also, the MAXIMUM speed for that road would be 60. It’s wet and narrow, so would expect less.
@JeremyClarkson

@JeremyClarkson
i believe you have had a number of invitations to join a Roads Policing Team for a shift. Please add our name to the list. When it comes to life changing or fatal collisions there is often a lot more to dealing with them than you think.
If you catch up with a cyclist when there is a solid white line on your side of the road, you must not overtake if the cyclist is moving at more than 10mph.
Be patient and wait for broken line, then leave plenty of space when you do pass.
Passing too close is also an offence.
If you are sat in lane 2 (3,4 or 5) overtaking nothing & the car approaching from behind gives you a friendly flash of lights to ask you to politely move over, just do it. The "gobful of abuse instead" approach may well get you the "£100 fine&points instead" approach 😐
We’re on scene in Letsby Avenue, just outside Guildford dealing with a single vehicle collision.
We’ve identified some mechanical defects and the driver tested positive for Calpol.

Imagine being that selfish.
A pavement is still covered under the wider definition of a ‘road’ - so obstructing the pavement is the same offence as obstructing a lane of traffic.
The driver of this Audi thought that finding a lawful parking spot was “inconvenient” while she topped up her tan at a sunbed near a school in Guildford.
She was left red faced with 3 points and £100 fine.

No Chris, “they” like you have every right to the road. The difference is you only have a right to drive as long as you are licensed to do so.
There is no reason why cyclists, horse riders, motorcyclists and drivers can’t sensibly share the roads safely. It just take patience
No surprise we had to pull this driver over. Undertaking our unmarked vehicle and others too, bullying other motorists out the way, the driver was issued with an Anti social driving notice (sect59) more

Actually they should do exactly what you are telling people not to do. They firstly have every right to use all the lane, secondly the positions you describe allow them to be seen and prevent unsafe overtakes. If you have to put your self at risk to overtake DONT

As you can see from the downloaded cleartone, the lights were red when they crossed the stop line and then continued.

Dear bad drivers,
Are you sure the cyclists you’re about to close pass isn’t us in plain clothes?
Ensure that your overtaking is safe and legal.
You never know who you’re overtaking or who’s waiting round the next bend.
Placing an item (like a dangling cable) across the pavement (which is still part of the Highway) is causing an wilful obstruction.
If you need kerbside charging infrastructure, please liaise with your local Council, but this is unacceptable and selfish.

If you’re a driver / passenger, it is vital you LOOK before opening - it’s illegal to injure/endanger someone by opening a door.
