A geek who loves military surplus! My main focus is US gear, mostly focused around the 1960s to 1990s.

WIP Early 80s Ranger kit. It's a combo of a few different dudes' kits, but I wanted to include the VBA! I really just need a good shave and a haircut, and this kit is mostly complete. It's definitely a fun one to put together!

Finally, I got my hands on a PVS-4, and it's a working one as well! Pretty nifty thing and an interesting reticle! I have a few impressions I plan on doing with this thing! I'll do a more detailed post on it later though!

Team Spirit '85.2nd BN, 32nd Infantry, 7th ID. TS '85 was right in the middle of the 7th's transition to Light. This was also before the adoption of their famous ragtop. Instead, they wore the more common sandbag scrim on their helmet. This was a fun kit to put together!

This just shows a quick kit layout and some references I used for the impression. You can find more of Team Spirit '87 on the NARA website. I've listed the NAID number for each reference as well. It's definitely a unique kit, and I'm fairly happy with how it came out!

Team Spirit '87.3rd Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Divison. This was an interesting time period for testing new gear such as the LBV-86 and LCS-86 Ruck. Both of which would be adopted not long after this and fielded in the early to mid 90s.

Cleaned my M25A1 the other day. It still needs a bit of work, but it's definitely much better than before. I still need to reattach the filter.

Most of my M1967 gear(both Army and USMC) plus a few related nylon items and some lincloe stuff as well! I'm missing a few things, but I'll get them eventually!

I know I don't post on here enough, but here is a family photo of the DH-132 series helmets and their derivatives! I'm still missing a few, but I'm getting there!

The liner has a similar suspension to the standard PASGT but does not have a headband. Instead, this has been replaced by two pads, one in the front and in the back. The plastic is not the strongest, but maybe with improvements, it could've been viable. We shall never know.

The shell and tags. The contract was issued by the Marine Corps in 1981. I have no idea on the date this helmet was manufactured, but I know it was made by Gentex.

PASGT Helmet with Detachable Liner. I just did a full video on this, but I wanted to post proper photos of it. It's definitely a weird helmet that I hope I can find out the history on it.

ACVC- Advanced Combat Vehicle Crewman Helmet. A joint program between the Army and USMC to develop an upgrade to the DH132 series. The Army would abandon it for the DH132B while the Marines used it until the late 2000s. This one is well used and missing the face guard.

Commerical "clone" of the nylon M1956 LLCE M14 mag pouches. It has a fake DSA number but is made from the newer CG483 foliage green nylon. It also has the plastic reinforcement in the flap. From my understanding, these were made in the early 2000s. Pretty good build quality.

Chemical Protective Overgarment (CPOG).This suit represents a radical change in how the US military would conduct chemical and biological warfare. This was the beginning of the MOPP era as we know it today. This is a fairly simple breakdown of the suit.

Experimental M1 with an interesting chin strap arrangement. This was more than likely a part of the LINCLOE program of the late 60s and early 70s. It came with a Welson-Davis Liner, which was also trialed during that time.
