🏥 We’re inviting UK hand surgery collaborators to join the study! You’ll: • Register LINEUP as a service evaluation with your Trust • Collect data on 10 patients • Upload anonymised data to REDCap (≤5% missing data) 🧵5/7

🔍 LINEUP will: • Describe current national practice • Capture family experiences • Assess whether a randomised controlled trial is feasible and acceptable 🧵4/7

👩‍⚕️ Population: Adults (16+) with fractures of the hand or wrist requiring fixation with K-wires. 🧪 Intervention A: Buried K-wires 🧪 Intervention B: Exposed K-wires 🎯 Outcomes: •Surgical Site Infection (SSI) risk at 90 days •Hand & wrist recovery at 6 months

❓ Why this research? Hand & wrist fractures are common. K-wires are routinely used in surgery but we don’t know if leaving them exposed or burying them under the skin is safer for patients.
