On June 19, 1865, about two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, the news reached the slaves in Texas. Today we celebrate that freedom and "rededicate ourselves to the cause of liberty" (§1-1-231, MCA). #Juneteenth

A big shout out to the federal court in Louisiana for enjoining the Biden administration from implementing the new Title IX rules that redefine biological sex. Great news for our Montana girls!

The lawsuit filed against me by bureaucratic leftists regarding public charter schools was dismissed today. I have followed the school opening laws and will continue to implement legislation within the law. I look forward to our public charter schools serving our Montana students

Today I stood in front of our Capitol with REAL women against Biden's new Title IX rule to say not in my Montana. In our great state, women are women and men are men, follow the science! Read my full remarks here: https://t.co/MaXciSCLm9

The new Title IX rules take a sledgehammer to our freedom of speech and parental and due process rights with a radically woke redefinition of sex. This is another top-down Biden mandate that disregards states’ rights. I will always fight for Montana’s women, girls, and values.

On Monday, a motion for a preliminary injunction against HB 393, the Students with Special Needs Equal Opportunity Act, which created the Education Savings Account, was filed by an organization funded by our tax dollars with no accountability to Montanans. My response is below.

The Montana Quality Education Coalition is suing me for following the law regarding the opening of our Public Charter Schools. Yesterday, the judge denied, in part, their motion for a preliminary injunction against me.

I will always stand with parental rights in education. Had a great afternoon with 100s of Montana parents and families at the Don’t Mess With Our Kids rally.

When woke organizations can't win in the legislature, they turn to the courts. I will not back down - parent voices must be respected in education!

Our MT public schools are funded via a formula and the court ruling is not a determinate of the funding. I hope the Governor and legislature promise to work in the next session to reduce property taxes for all MT. https://t.co/SK3dAFGqGz

The Montana Supreme Court has issued an order upholding the state’s interpretation of property tax law – ruling against the vast majority of Montana counties.

As a teacher of 23 years, I am disappointed in the Board of Public Education's decision to raise taxes on our hard-working teachers. My proposed fee structure protected our teachers while following the law and fully funding our licensing system.

Should Montana increase teacher licensing fees? The answer is simple, “no.” Why would we consider shifting the burden of covering the cost of licensing to our teachers who are struggling to make ends...

Had a great discussion on the radio about teacher licensing fees. This week the Board of Public Education will meet to discuss the licensing fee structure. I urge the Board to accept my proposal and not raise taxes on our teachers who are struggling to make ends meet.

Montana is home to eight federally recognized tribes and seven Indian Reservations. Each tribe has its own flag with rich symbolism. Mike Jetty, OPI Indian Education Specialist, teaches us about the meaning of these flags. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth
