We missed this and it's important! In honor of the 50th anniversary of @billhicksdotcom birth, @Rykodisc released a digital EP, "12/16/61" on 12/13/11. It was the final new release on Ryko, following conclusion of a @Zappa lawsuit that ironically may have kept the label alive.

On this day in 1987, @Rykodisc released @Zappa's "Peaches En Regalia", the first U.S. commercially available "pop" 3-inch CD. It would not be the last such product from either the artist or company.

We lost Nick Drake on this day in 1974.

On this day in 2005, @Rykodisc re-released the @NineInchNails classic "Pretty Hate Machine" - how it came to us is an absolutely crazy story involving banks, fried chicken and a disturbing amount of perspiration. More in @Rykobook
