I was feeling down because I couldn’t go back to Australia for Christmas, but then my mum called (where it’s already Christmas Day) and I chatted with her and my family, and now I feel less alone. Loved. Happy. If you’re alone this Christmas, I hope you find your happy too ❤️

Update: I filled my car with petrol for the first time. I don’t know what gallons are in litres and I never will. It’s like when people tell me what a mile is in kilometres; my brain becomes like a dolphin and the information slides off like water. Don’t tell me. I will forget.

Update: Early this morning the rain had stopped, so I drove to where my gym is to practice the route, which requires the freeway - speed limit signs here really are just decorations, hey? Not even SUGGESTIONS. Just JOKES perhaps? Anyway, it ruled. I got coffee. I’m so free.

I was painting by my balcony door today* and I heard a crash - I looked up and a friggin’ squirrel was right in front of my face on the other side of the glass, staring at me. A HARBINGER OF DOOM?! * I don’t do this often. I only started painting again recently, to Make Things.

I got my Californian license which meant today, for the first time ever in 8.5 years, I DROVE into Blizzard. I told anyone who would listen and was absolutely insufferable, asking if they wanted to see a photo of my car in the car park. All-caps online, yelping in person.

Yesterday we sold out of the early-bird BlizzCon Passes AND I passed my Californian driving test, allowing me to scoot across American soil at will. Big day for laying the foundations for legendary upcoming chapters 💙

Last night. BRB (Blizzard Rock Band) practiced in the courtyard, serenading the orc. Our bootcamp trainers were doing night class (I do early morning) and they drove up to listen before they left. They cheered, gave hugs, and gassed us up WELL GOOD. Best feeling. 💙 I love band.

There’s construction going on at Blizzard atm. I was outside talking to a colleague when a worker dude in a truck drove past. He stopped and said “HEY, YOU GUYS MAKE VIDEO GAMES?” “YEAH!” I yelled back. “THAT’S SO COOL!” he yelled, then drove away. He’s right. It IS cool.
