It’s the biggest week of the yr, Open Championship week am I am delighted to say I will be covering all the action for @paddypower starting with my main preview for Paddy out later today.

Isco has to b 1 of weirdest PGA events I can remember. Guys struggling to get to grips with course throwing big numbers in right, left & centre, a runaway 36 hole leader who collapses & another guy who comes from 7 back making course look easy & is going to win at a canter! 🤷‍♂️.

Congratulations to Gotterup, a tremendous performance. One of those guys who was always considered to have the potential to be a ‘cut above’ but that could be said of many who never push on. Full place for us with Fitz so no real damage done.

Bit of a damp squib for us at Isco yesterday with all our 3 guys throwing in a few shocker holes. Hoey still has a few to play when they resume, hopefully he can pick up a birdie or two. Now that he can’t win wouldn’t be surprised if Thor goes low today & runs in to a place. 🤞.

Somewhat disappointing finish from Fitz particularly after the tee shot on 17 but he’s still in great shape heading in to tomorrow. We’re certainly due a good Sunday. 🤞.

Halfway stage and plenty to play for in both events. 4 of 6 thru to weekend in Scotland. Fitz right in mix & hopefully Nico can bounce back today & get back in to place contention. In Isco 3 of 4 thru to weekend. Thor disappointing so far but Rico right in it & Gordon lurking. 🤞.

Not sure what conditions are like in Kentucky today but this course for the Isco seems to be no pushover. A lot depends on what Kim does today of course but quite possible single digits under par will be leading at the end of today.

Gutted as I am to not have Oasis tickets not sure I would have fancied the 30+ degree heat in Manc today/tomorrow in a crowd of 60K and as well as all the traffic chaos. Suspect the medics will be v busy & the bootleg bucket hat sales people will do a roaring trade!.

Blimey we even get a world feed for the Isco. Had been looking forward to some good old fashioned Golf Channel coverage with Steve Sands & co!.

So far so good for my Nico hunch, a decent morning all round so far with Mav & Morikawa also going nicely.

From yesterday my Scottish Open picks.

Really like Buckley here @ odds. Has a g8 par 70 record inc top 5 at Colonial which I see as a decent fit. Shows up well in opp field events as he did at Myrtle this yr. Should feel @ home here having been brought up in neighbouring Tennessee & attended college in Missouri. 3/3.

Diff track I know but Hoey has unfinished business from last yr in event. His accurate tee to Green game should suit layout well. Gordon has pressure off now he has satisfied his med extension. Has a good par 70 record. 2/3.

Four picks for Isco. Thorbjornsen 14s.Hoey 20s.Gordon 70s.Buckley 150s. All 1/5 8, 1pt e/w except Thor 2.5pts e/w. Hoey 2 e/w. Brief thoughts. Just think Thor is the class young act here. Can do similar to Hov in PR & Mori at Barracuda back in the day. In good form at mo. 1/3.
