Even if you aren't a cycling fan, you should tune in to the next few days of the Vuelta a Espana.
Sepp Kuss, from Durango, CO (my home), is trying to pull off an incredible feat.
See, Sepp is what's called a "domestique", which means his role is do whatever he can to help…

Not following much myself, but how are Vingegaard and Roglic handling it?? Is this Lemond-Hinault 85/86, or are they professionals about it all??

I do watch cycling and Sepp has been the most exciting American to watch in years. Total class act and a massive bad ass on the bike, especially climbs. He rocked the TdF this year.

Glad you’re excited! However, it’s pretty unlikely his team is trying to beat him. Sending Vingegaard up the road yesterday was about getting Jonas on podium & the chance to win a stage on his daughter’s birthday. Keep an eye out next Wed—the climb of Angrilu & Sepp’s birthday.

JV ran a competition a couple of TdFs ago and winners got their names on a riders jersey - mine was on Sepp's and I've followed him ever since. He's been an outstanding domestique in 2 tours already this year and thoroughly deserves the teams support now.

Baird, I lived in Durango 2013-2017 (now in Del Norte), and had the privilege of putting Sepp on his DRO>DEN flight in 2014, as his first flight to the Olympics...
In all honesty, it was a "should I know you?" situation, with a bunch of Fam & friends seeing him off...

Wonderful kid and representative of the US. Debatable as to whether Jumbo will let him compete for the Red jersey in the end of the Vuelta
