1/2 When something is impossible... ...then probably there is some thermophilic bacteria which does it! It appears that one of them has a protein with a DOUBLE KNOT 🥨_🥨. For know it is the only known protein with a double knot 🤩.

It's not all work! Last Tuesday, we met for another lab social, got to know each other better and recharged our batteries for the excited research to come.

AlphaKnot also has the first database of entanglement in knotted proteins of 21 model organisms provided by AlphaFold.

AlphaKnot is the only web server measuring entanglement of protein structures predicted by AI methods like AlphaFold and RoseTTaFold. With AlphaKnot one can identify knots and validate they quality.
