It's strange how 3D stuff from the late 90's and early 2000's generally aged poorly. But oddly, Civ 3's leaderheads actually look pretty good? Better than the cartoony leaders from 4 or 5.
Ok, I'm thinking of an interesting twist to save file magic.
Instead of sending me save files you accidentally fucked up, I want you to intentionally fuck them and send them to me. Just produce the most bizarre unwinnable border gore gamestate.
I should say this again, thank you for putting up with my channel being monetized. This is what allows me to invest in new gear and put in the hours to make less shameful content.
Yesterday some 4th grade kid in a class I teach was bragging about his youtube channel where he plays Among Us, etc. I was sooooooooo tempted just to drop a massive flex on him.
Fucking wild to me that there was a time where "Never Gonna Give You Up" would come on the radio and people would be like, "Yeah, that's a normal song"
Interesting fact that I learned today: Keshiks and Conquistadors have Zone of Control, even though the unit they're replacing don't.
Also not in the civilopedia. Add that to the list.
The absolute most confusing comments I get on my channel are people being like, "hey, fun fact, you can automate your workers! Might save you some time🙃" Or some variation, like telling me to have my governor auto-assign citizen moods.
Btw, I've been peeved for a while that I can't win on Sid without resorting to gimmicks. I'm trying to practice playing consistently and winning on (good) random maps
Do you ever wake up and think: "Today's the day I'm gonna do all those optional updates I've been x-ing out of every time they pop up"? Today's your lucky day OBS.
@SorenJohnson
We just finished making a puzzle/quiz app for getting better at Civ 3! You should give it a try if you're feeling nostalgic for your old creations :)
When people ask me why the alternate universe that Modern is set in has both the EU and the USSR, even though they arguably never existed concurrently.
Hot take but the Impi and the Hoplite might secretly be roughly the same power level as unique units. The hoplite just works well for Greece while the Impi has absurd anti-synergy with the Zulu traits.
There's a special place in hell for programs that ask you if you want to save when you're closing them EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVEN'T TOUCHED A GOD DAMN THING
In case anyone thinks the multiplayer scene for a 20 year old game might be boring, the latest craze in
#Civ3
is INTENTIONALLY SINKING YOUR OWN AIRCRAFT CARRIER. Yes, it actually gives you an advantage.
Hey guys, we're going to be testing an experimental multiplayer mod today based on victory point collection, come join the discord if that interests you.
Got a new microphone! I tested it and it's fantastic. I want to bang out a video right now, thinking of doing some save file magic but remind me if there's something I've neglected.
Rateyourmusic charts for New Zealand are fuckin wild.
1) Arrangement of Vivaldi's Four Seasons
2) Opera
3) Technical Death Metal
4) Lorde's Melodrama
5) Orchestral music
I've talked a few times about the subtle and underrated benefits of having a city from a military perspective. Vision, exclusive use of roads, etc. But one I've realized is super strong is that the enemy can't see how many units you have.
I'm building a new multiplayer mod based on Sengoku. It will be ancient/medieval era. If you would be interested in playtesting or trying it once it's complete, please take this survey.
