If I could go back and tell 9 year old me one thing it would be that no matter what any teacher tells you, doodles are not a waste of time. It might be the wrong time, but that doesn't mean doodles are bad. They help you feel calm and that's enough.

The only thing you can control is your effort. Practice makes improvement and perfect is impossible. So don't aim for perfect. Aim to practice and celebrate that you did it. Keep being curious and exploring new things. Improvement will happen all by itself.
