Fabulous morning at @wildkenhill with @Stuvigreen, Lead Entomologist with @CitizenZoo - helping to reintroduce the country’s largest (and rarest) grasshopper - the Large Marsh Grasshopper. A fantastic citizen-led project that is a joy to see in action.

Brimstone caterpillar on Alder Buckthorn, in Belper, Derbys. A few adult males were flying about - not sure if they are the same generation or the parents’s generation.

Only apply this awful stuff if your dog actually has fleas and is scratching itself like crazy. Afterwards don’t let it swim in ponds or rivers for the next 3 months.

Our latest research shows spot-on flea treatments on dogs are released into water when dogs swim even 28 days after treatment - in contrast to the label which suggests dogs can safely swim 48 h after treatment.

Reunion with 3 (now) professors in this photo from 40 yrs ago! Where did the years go?.So many glowing tributes from fellow researchers, in a wonderful (at times hilarious!) celebration of Roger’s career. The spirit of Charles Darwin lives on!
