The Raleigh North Carolina Temple, the first in the state, is cherished by local Latter-day Saints. Dedicated by Gordon B. Hinckley on December 18-19, 1999, the 12,864-square-foot temple features a single spire with an angel Moroni statue.

On April 21, 2001, the announcement of the Redlands California Temple took place. The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on December 1, 2001, by Dieter F. Uchtdorf. The public open house was held between August 9 and September 6, 2003.
