Suffice to say that during my ‘transition’ in Edinburgh I came across several men like @DavidLyddon. Men with a particular penchant for what used to be referred to and advertised in telephone boxes in most UK cities, as ‘she-males’. It’s a very particular paraphilia.

Many years ago I thought, with youthful naivety, that being ‘transsexual’ was an act of rebellion and that in ‘transitioning’ I was giving patriarchy the middle finger. Nothing could’ve been further from the truth, I was merely reiterating traditional sexist stereotypes.
my sense is that within their own families young people are resisting coercive beliefs & beginning to rebel or already rebelling. if a young person sees in their parents suffocating dogma, hatred & fear of change, it would be natural to NOT want to emulate them. transitioning to.

Bon dia! Mala noticia! Although I’m feeling a little better I’m clearly not well enough to tackle mountain trails, I may well do more harm than good. So I’m returning to Lleida for a couple of days to recuperate, hopefully back in the mountains on Thursday. #SlowPyrenees.

Salut! For just 21km, all downhill, that was one of the hardest hikes I’ve done in a long, long while. Every time I hit the accelerator pedal there was no response, I could add no oomph to my stride. Arriving back at my hotel, I’m utterly exhausted. #SlowPyrenees

A glimpse of the sultry Montardo (2833m) which was on my list for this week. It’s a long, long hike with 1500m of up - and therefore 1500m of down so it’ll have to wait for the autumn. #SlowPyrenees

Bon dia. I woke this morning, still feeling a little rough, intending to return to Lleida to recuperate but after breakfasting and abluting I decided I was well enough for a gentle stroll so I’m taking the bus to Baqueira whence I’ll hike back down the valley. #SlowPyrenees

All roads lead to and from Santiago! Fortunately there’s always a Plan B and it invariably includes a Camino. It’s a very gentle downhill stroll alongside the nascent Riu Garona though I don’t think I’ll have the energy to make it to the French border. #SlowPyrenees
