EARNINGS UPDATE: 401/500 companies in the S&P 500 have reported for Q2 (78.6% of market cap). 80.8% have surprised to the upside. Earnings so far are +9.8% from a year ago. Overall, consensus was estimating only +2.8% YOY at start. Revenues are +6.2% YOY vs. 4.0% estimate at.

What a fascinating world we live in. Democrats, who constantly want to raise tax rates, are saying we can’t use tariffs because they are a tax. They will drive up inflation and hurt people. So, will they cut gas taxes in their states? I’m ready to hear the arguments.
