We were playing Man City at Villa Park. A televised match. Oasis were playing at Maine Road. 'Would you fax the team sheets early so we can distribute to our hospitality suites where they are watching the match ?' 'Yes, if you get one signed for me'.

FA Cup semi finals shouldn’t be at Wembley, to me it dampens the thrill of reaching the Final. While at Villa we had 29 semi finals or replays, some unforgettable matches. A crate of champagne in the winners dressing room and tears in the other.

1st Division Champions, European Cup Winners, UEFA Super Cup, 3 x League Cup Winners, hosting 29 FA Cup semi finals and generally keeping your head down and getting on with it with loyal service for 35 years still didn’t get me an invite to the 150 match last night. Gutted.

Concert tickets have become expensive due to the loss of revenue from record sales which is somewhat understandable. Dynamic pricing however is a massive rip off and should be banned.

My copy arrived this morning and by 6pm I had read it cover to cover. Very well written, easy read, brought back some great memories.
This new book by @BigStarRich promises to be a cracker, particularly with significant input from Big Ron and @StrideSteve, who was at the very heart of a memorable era in Villa's history.
