For me, the ideal breakdown would probably be to have 10 episodes in the 4th and 5th seasons such that the Davy Back Fight can serve as the season 4 finale and CP9 can be covered in a single season. #ONEPIECE #ONEPIECE1177

I think this is perhaps a bit more realistic. Ideally, I'd say the Davy Back Fight should be shifted to season 4, but only if it could be extended to 9 - 10 episodes. I also think W7 / Enies Lobby could be done in 10 - 12 episodes total. #ONEPIECE #ONEPIECE1177

Perhaps a little more likely breakdown for a final season not split into two parts; Two episodes may be excessive for Amazon Lily. Impel Down and Marineford in 3 episodes each, but with longer runtimes per episode and a 2.5 hour post-war finale.

That is to say, it's possible Imu's world, once realized, would perhaps loose demons upon the world which have not yet fully emerged.

Thus, just like the other Celestial Dragons, despite their strength and their devotion to Imu, the Knights and Elders would better fit into the category of 'two groups pitted against each other in service of the villain's goal'.

It's also notable that the 'Holy Knights of God' and 'Devoted Blades of God' as well as the Five Elders (Abyssal covenants) are all themselves Celestial Dragons. This doesn't fully fit the established model in Oda's writing. The Knights and Elders are descended from the 20 Kings.

Sanji and Franky recognize that they're already stronger than the Knights who appeared on Elbaph (aside from Imu-Gunko) and even if those in Marijoa like Shamrock are stronger, we also know there are a limited number of depths covenants.

Ever since Marineford, I was expecting that a strong deterrent force existed in Marijoa and fittingly, the Holy Knights were later revealed. This also fit w/ Oda's pattern of 'outsider' villains having their own inner cabal. Now, I'm starting to think there's something else (1/2)

That isn't to say that what came afterward wasn't also great. I only mean to highlight how exceptionally excellent those string of story arcs were and to emphasize how thrilling Oda made the experience of reading those chapters week to week.

I still love reading One Piece each week, but I don't know that any fandom experience can ever compare to following One Piece week to week from the CP9 saga through the Paramount War. Truly a generational run of chapters from 2004 through 2010. #ONEPIECE #ONEPIECE1176

While I believe all members of the crew will continue to develop, if any Straw Hat is going to be placed directly at the center of the narrative of a future story arc like Sanji was on Whole Cake Island, I think it will be Nami. I believe there's more to her backstory. #ONEPIECE
