(Also, I made a plan to post on Twitter only to promote Scurry, then Carved in Stone when it debuts later this summer, and then to scrub this account save to sit and hold the handle. If you want up to date Stout Stoat news, follow me on Bluesky.)

EU STOUT STOAT FANS: From the 1st of December 2024, I won't be able to send orders into ANY European Union country, until further notice. This is because of new GPSR legislation. A fix will eventually come, but not in time for the holiday season!

Very much inspired by @BlackwellWriter 's and @hinokodo's, which are both thriving creative spaces and always look fun to be in

Thinking of starting a Stout Stoat discord server for sharing of project thoughts and progress. Something to keep the Social in my media, without the Heinous Wickedness of this platform 😤

Come meet me! Poke me with a stick! Next Saturday (12th October) I'll be at OH!CON over in Stornoway! I'll have a wee table display for different books, and I'll be part of a panel at the start of the day, and giving a talk on what goes into Pict-ish historical games :)

Writing huge books is so disorientating. Just got back with a mug of tea. Why was I editing the section on justice? Why do I have a bunch of tabs open about rope making? What's this lineage of Pictish kings open for? Why is there a post-it note with the word CAIT circled on it??

If I had infinite time and money I would LOVE to explore TTRPGs as audiobook experiences. I'd probably start with CYOP games, and then explore from there. Music and intonation play such an important part in my own GMing, I wish I could play with it more as a presented product.
I listen to specific pieces of music when I read back what I've written, to see if the draft captures the right mood or tone. I've been writing about empty abandoned ruins recently, and listening to parts of the Arcanum soundtrack again. https://t.co/lGde20JAyI

I'm always a big OST fan, but I admire the confidence and simplicity of having a string quartet underscore your game. It still sticks with me, almost two decades after I first played it. Reminds me of Roadwarden's OST, which was a composite of different artists but still bold.
