The weather this week has us ready for spring! This weeks #watertipwednesday is all about gardening. In order to conserve water, you can gather water while you shower, take water from the kitchen used for boiling, or even recycle your fish tank water in your flowerbed and garden!

This weeks #watertipwednesday is about ice. Did you notice some slippery spots this morning on your commute? Did you know that the salt we put down on roads and sidewalks usually ends up in storm drains? This increases the salinity of local waters and can impact our health!

This weeks #watertipwednesday is all about the kitchen! Everyone spends a lot more time in the kitchen around this time of year. Did you know that it conserves more water to wash dishes in the dishwasher as opposed to the sink? And remember to never leave the water running!

This week’s #watertipwednesday is all about #fertilizer! Fertilizers help promote plant growth, & they also increase how much water your plant consumes. Be sure you know your soil type and don’t over fertilize your plants! You’ll save water, and help protect your local waterways.

“Fish kills were mainly due to significant declines in dissolved oxygen levels, rather than contaminants, pollution or other factors. The lower sections of these rivers were devoid of oxygen and unsuitable for aquatic life for more than 30 days.” https://t.co/eW3sUobi9h

This week's #watertipwednesday is about all of this melting snow! Stormwater runoff can come in many forms, including melting snow. When shoveling/plowing snow, pay attention to where you place it. Try to pile snow in areas where it will have a chance to infiltrate, not runoff!
