Celtics/NBA for @barstoolsports. Proud Sun Devil. I once lost a game of knock out to Walter McCarty and it was the best day of my life.

I mean it's just a realistic projection based on their roster as constructed combined with what it takes to win 40+. Doesn't mean unproven guys can prove to be good, just that it's also OK to be honest about where they stand.
@StoolGreenie I can't wait till next April/May when I remind everyone about these weird predictions for less than 40 wins & the tank/soft tank bs.

Is it cheating to say my ideal scenario would be win 40, make the Play In and lose and then let the NBA rig the lottery for you like they did for the Mavs?.
@StoolGreenie Rather win 40 "for the development of the kids" or win 20 and get high in the lottery?.

Possible! But I think it would require the "best case scenario" happening for a few guys like Baylor/Walsh/Queta etc. To win 40+, you're going to need to be around a +0.0 or -1.0 net rating imo. In most cases, to do that you're going to have to at least be top 10 on one end of.
@StoolGreenie They still end up winning 40+ games imo.

Nobody suggests Jaylen carried Tatum to a title. Most normal, logical people understand and acknowledge that they were BOTH crucial components to winning the title. Also, if you can't understand the difference in the 2025-26 roster to previous versions, you're just being.
@xtra_Icce @StoolGreenie Spent two years listening to everyone tell us JB carried Tatum through the playoffs to a championship now Iโm supposed to believe they are a 30 win team ๐ I canโt keep up.

Slightly more, probably 40-43 imo because his skillset/size/rebounding addresses their biggest current issues (shot creation, rebounding, switching, defense etc). But an injury to that team would cook it the same way an injury to this team would.
@StoolGreenie I have a question dan. If JB was the one out the whole season and JT was left with this team how many games do they win?.

Not really, because that would mean they hit on some of the young pieces that are VERY important once Tatum is back. There's literally no downside to this upcoming season really, regardless of how it shakes out. But I think fans need to understand what is required for a team to.
@StoolGreenie Are you going to bitch all year once it become apparent 2 months in that this team is too good to โtankโ?.

I don't think any of the players or the coach staff are like "hell yeah let's tank!". But I think Brad Stevens has told us the team's intentions given their roster. They'll compete, play hard, and where the chips fall is where they fall, and given their roster construction that's.
@StoolGreenie You think JB is on board for tanking?!?.

I am very confident that Ben Simmons can help them lose games. which is their goal. There is no switch up. The reasons he stinks are why I want him for a gap year. I'm not telling you he's good. I'm telling you he's perfect for the tank and if it turns out he can be playable,.
@StoolGreenie From your past tweets it doesn't seem like youโre very confident in Ben Simmons, even on a minimum. Its easy to switch up when it suites your situation.

How so? So if they win 37 games next season that means he didn't make sacrifices to win in previous seasons (just like everyone did)?. His belief in his talent and that he has more to show/grow into as a player would be negated why? Because league minimum players/rookies might.
โWould it mean DWhite isnโt as good? Or Prichard?โ. LOL. Iโm strictly talking about Jaylen, and what heโs preached about himself as a player and how heโs constantly referred to his sacrifices and so on . 37 wins would negate all of that talk. Simple.

Alright, stay with me here. Almost like there's a drastic difference in situation, which leads to a change in reaction about a player. How is that desperate? The Celts are soft tanking and can add a player who would be better than they have on a minimum. What are you even.
@StoolGreenie Ofc there's a difference, nobodies denying that. The stark difference in your reaction of Ben Simmons shows how desperate you are.

I think this is what some people are still struggling with. They see names like Jaylen/White/Pritchard/Hauser and think this is in any way a similar roster to what the Celts have had. In reality, it's their worst roster since probably 2013-14. It's not only about who they lost,.
@StoolGreenie Take Jaylen off this roster and they win maybe 20 games. Honestly Iโd be surprised if they win 35 games this season. And that isnโt a shot at Jaylen or d-white. They literally are being surrounded by guys who are DNP-CDs on every other roster.

What an insane way to look at this season. 5 of the top 8 on the team are gone, including their best player. They have the worst frontcourt situation in the league, and an entire bench of unproven minimums/Year 2 guys. To think if they win 37 or whatever games means everything.
If Jaylen is healthy and he leads the Cs to this type of seasonโฆ. Everything heโs tried to say the last couple of years instantly becomes a complete joke. If he is who he says he is and who half of Celtics twitter think he is, no reason to not finish the year .500.

@StoolGreenie Hear me out, what if we didnโt ask him to shoot? He could just screen and roll and hit cutters with his passing. He could carry the ball up in transition.

6'10 is 6'10 and he can't be worse than Xavier Tillman was last year imo. And even if he somehow is, that also works!.
@StoolGreenie Heโs not a big on anything, but I wonder if he could essentially take the Kornet role of setting screens and short roll passing considering he never takes threeโs.

Fuck it. 1. It would be hilarious for Sixers fans to see him be good as a Celtic. 2. If he stinks, it's the perfect tank addition. Either outcome works for me.
Boston, Phoenix, New York, and Sacramento have shown interest in Ben Simmons, per @TheSteinLine . โLeague sources say that the Suns have also had some recent dialogue with former All-Star Ben Simmons, who I'm told has drawn interest since free agency began from Boston, New York
