UPDATE: Ohio BCI is now on scene. A spokesperson tells me they’re responding to an “officer-involved critical incident.” He could not give more information about what exactly took place. We are still waiting to speak with Lancaster police to find out more. @wsyx6 @fox28columbus
BREAKING: Lancaster police say they’re on the scene of an active situation involving gunfire and serious injuries. This is in the 1200 block of North Broad. An officer on scene told me he’ll have more info for us soon. @wsyx6 @fox28columbus

NEW: The sheriff calls this a “misunderstanding.” There was never an active shooter. He said a staff member overheard a convo about a domestic dispute that took place earlier and called 911 thinking it was happening in the moment. No one was hurt in that situation either.
UPDATE: The Muskingum Co Sheriff texted me and said “no shooting at this time.” Deputies are still there and investigating.

UPDATE: The Muskingham County Sheriff’s Office says there was no shooting. Law enforcement officers are still on scene investigating.
Shelter-in-place issued at Muskingum University for possible active shooter. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office said it received a report of a possible shooter at the university around 6:45 p.m.
