When we let wrongful convictions stand, innocent people are left in prison for crimes they didn't commit — while the real offender evades accountability and remains a threat to our community.
We know that the criminal legal system isn't perfect — and when mistakes are made, our community loses confidence in it. That's why our Conviction Integrity Unit is so important: not only to remedy past injustices, but to build back public trust in our legal system.
