Today I say a final goodbye to Paul Stevens, who has made me a better version of myself by being in my life. I held his hand on Christmas Eve and promised that I will never forget him, and he will forever own my heart. Sleep well bub x

Another day, another walk to the beach

Another evening spent by the ocean, finding patterns in nature and looking for answers.

I sat down by the sea last night and finally let the emotions of the past few weeks wash out of me. Sometimes being strong for everyone else just becomes too much. The ocean has a way of reaching inside your soul and pulling at your heart, and you’re powerless to try and resist.

This is my favourite spot in Pendeen. I call them the Alone Stones, because if you cross them you lose phone signal and contact with the ever-constant outside noise. You can be alone with your thoughts, alone with your memories, and alone with yourself. It’s time to step over.

I hope that 2026 brings everything that you wish for. Whether you jump into it, or take small unsteady steps, be kind to yourself and don’t take anything for granted. Our time is limited, so make the most of every minute.

Goodbye bub. My best friend for the past two years, the first person I met in the village, and a friendship like I’ve never known before. Paul Stevens you leave a space in my life, and in my heart, that can never be filled. I will always love you and I will see you again one day.

I wasn’t expecting to add a new memory bauble to my tree today, but I lost my best friend yesterday. He was a Marvel fan, and so his memory bauble had to be Captain America. Sleep well bub, you will forever be part of me.

It’s a very different Christmas for me this year, but the food was still served at 2pm on the dot (not my best presentation). Whatever you’re doing today, remember to pick up the phone and have a chat with those that you love… because they are irreplaceable.

The Pendeen Lighthouse has protected and brought the locals home safely since 1900. Its silhouette against the evening sky provides a feeling of hope for everyone that sees it.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without my old Dapol Dalek ornament on the tree.
