Once again I am in a DEI training where a participant is agreeing with the racist person in the example scenario set up for us to practice responding to racism in the moment.

My institution asked if I would consider joining the DEI council. Good learning experience? Free labor? Distraction from my PhD work? Chance to make positive change? . Good or bad idea?.

I really really miss working at coffee shops and at the library.

It's tough to want to be in academia to try to make a change and support the next student but also I want to get our of here as soon as possible.

Going private for a little bit because I think someone from my institution is trying to ID me after my last few tweets, in a way that does not seem like it's going to end well for me.

Someone from my institution asked whether I would give a disability DEI talk to the summer students this summer. But the last time I gave a talk here it led to 3 meeting with my HR about how I'm toxic and hurtful for suggesting ways to not use ableist language. Should I?.

I want to support these students, and I want more practice giving DEI seminars, but it was so traumatic last time for me. Am I playing myself to even consider it? . It makes me feel better that she liked the talk enough to invite me again though, I do feel a little vindicated 😅.
