Biggest league win since August 1992 (7-0 vs St Mirren)…I think 1st home win vs Ross County in 15 years More goals today than in our previous 9 league games combined Dougie Imrie is the first Rovers manager to be unbeaten in their first 4 games since Grant Murray in 2012.

With Ross County coming up on Saturday, I looked at the points per game of everyone in the league vs the top 7 compared to the bottom 3. PPG Vs bottom 3 teams St Johnstone 2.67 Partick 2.67 Arbroath 2.5 Morton 2.2 Ayr 1.67 QP 1.67 Pars 1.6 Airdrie 1.5 Rovers 0.4 County 0.33

A lot of what I hoped we’d see when we appointed Imrie. Very well organised and hard working. Tough to play against, delayed the game & frustrated St Johnstone. A good point. We obviously need to be much better in the final 3rd but really limited on quality options just now.

Now drawn away in 14 of last 17 Scottish cup games. A loss would mean our last 10 Scottish Cup exits have been away, 9 to Premier League teams. In the last 18 years we have only lost only 4 home Scottish cup ties, 3 of which were to sides who went on to win the competition.

Won’t be popular with everyone I’d imagine but he was my first choice from the realistic candidates. Not perfect & all options have pros & cons but feel like he has done well at Morton with a more limited budget & has shown he can get the maximum out of his teams at this level.

Our current total of 14 goals is our lowest number scored in our first 16 league games since Claude Anelka’s 04/05 season, when we scored 11. It is 1 less than we had at this stage last season when we had 15 which is now our second lowest tally since that Anelka season.
@StatsRaith surely some stats on the lack of goals

Last of the depressing stats for tonight. Airdrie have only won 3 away games against Championship opposition in the last 19 months, a period covering 29 games. 2 of the 3 have been at Stark’s Park.

Summer Exits vs Their Replacements Dabrowski - Rae McNeil - Glavin Freeman - Rowe Murray - O’Connor Dick - Wilson Stanton - Nsio Connolly - McMullan Gullan - Gentles Pollock - Chin Marsh - Raeside just a kid so I’ve left him off. How many of those have been improvements?

I should add, I really like Shaun Byrne and at his best he offers something we don’t have from anyone else. But the messiah talk needs to stop. I understand he is carrying a knock (he won’t be the only one) but he has been as poor as the rest of our midfield options this season.

Dislike of Robson has protected the players but there is no hiding place after that. Our goal is apparently top 4, that squad isn’t anywhere near it. Toothless in attack, leaking goals and midfield non existent. 10 summer signings, I’m not sure 1 has improved the starting 11.

You have to go back 13 years to McGlynn’s first spell for the last Rovers manager to have both won & lost a game vs Airdrie. Since then, 6 people have managed the Rovers vs today’s opponents with 4 going unbeaten & 2 failing to win. Hopefully Hanlon joins the right side today.

Don’t think you’ll get many Rovers fans who disagree with this decision. Worst form in the league over the last 6 games but even over the last 11, the form is: Thistle 24 St Johnstone 22 Ayr 17 Arbroath 17 Pars 15 Morton 12 Ross County 11 Raith Rovers 11 QP 11 Airdrie 6

If you put 30/40 crosses into the opposition box there comes a point when you should probably accept it’s not because they can’t live with you & more because that’s exactly what they want you to do. Played right into QP’s hands & were completely predictable in attack yet again.

According to Transfermarkt our record in Championship games refereed by Colin Steven is: Played: 12 Won: 1 Draw: 5 Lost: 6
@RaithRovers @StatsRaith out of curiosity what is our win rate when Colin Steven is refereeing?

Just seemed a much better shape for the players we have and we looked to have a lot better balance. Hopefully we continue with it.

Mentioned the change to the back 4 but I think the main difference was in front of them. Everyone playing in their natural positions (except Brown). Easton & McMullan gave us width & Brown as ‘10’ worked as it stopped him & Matthews tripping over each other doing the same job.
Better today. Change to the back 4 helped and two important players for us, Brown and Easton, had their best games for a few weeks. First goal was always going to be key as it has been all season. We’re yet to concede when we’ve taken the lead in a league game this season.
